March 1999 saw the disappearance of Insanity's second board and the election of a third group of people to run the radio station. The Station Manager (Matt Deegan) and Assistant Station Manager (Michael Thompson) were elected through a cross-campus ballot in February of 1999. Below is a brief history of each of the membes of the board. If you want to work in any of their areas email them and get involved.

Matt Deegan Matt Deegan - Station Manager

Matt was one of Insanity's first recruits, signing up at Fresher's Fayre in 1997. Though he missed the first few meetings because he found the Ski and Snowboard club more exciting, he finally turned up and asked if he could present on Insanity's lunchtime broadcasts, nobody else wanted to, so he was let loose broadcasting to three people in the coffee bar once a week. Later he presented the week-end breakfast show on the first licence and then was elected to the heady of heights of Head of Communications, a position which would soon be deleted from Insanity's constitution. Head of Production arrived and Matt's responsibilities then invloved producing the jingles and training the presenters for the second and third licences. On both of these he was a drivetime presenter, and on the third licence he was lucky enough to run down the Woolworth's chart. He's now the Station Manager.

Michael Thompson - Assistant Station Manager

Michael was elected to the Insanity board as Head of Publicity and Promotions, this proved a mammoth job so it was split into Head of Publicity and head of Promotions. He took the latter, and was very successful winning lots of prizes for his promotional skill. Michael has also been a presenter bouncing around from pop to retro, sometimes he sounds good, but you'd have to be very lucky to hear it when he is. Micahel's favourite colour is blue, and his favourite number is four.

Michael Thompson
Markus Fuhrig Markus Fuhrig - Head of Programme Development

Markus joined the station in his first year presenting a show within weeks of starting college. He got given an awful slot early in the morning and is determined to get his own back by controlling Insanity's schedule. On the third RSL he got a slightly better timeslot playing European Dance and Techno.

Phil Elliot - Head of Production

Phil has been part of the boradcast side of Insanity since the first licence working on other people's shows. His patience was finally rewarded by the third RSL and he ws giving the week-end breakfast show. Phil's very very tight, so much so that he wouldn't by the morning papers to review on his show, he sent someone with a mobile phone to the college shop to review them there!

Phil Eliot
Ambrose Heron Ambrose Heron - Head of Music

Ambrose has been another old-timer working on all the licences from presenting his own alternative shows on the week-ends to being a roving reporter on other people's shows. Ambrose can talk on any topic for any length of time, his specialist subjects are Capital being the evil empire and education policy. He longs to make a documentary about the Radio Authority, we just hope he does the playlists on time.

Louise Ramsden - Head of Speech

Lousie is a Drama student and it has beome customary to elongate the Ram part of her surname, I don't know why, it's just kinda caught on. Lousie has co-presented shows on the station and has developed drama for the Thursday Arts Social, she even got clearence for the plays to be read on air, which impressed us.

Louise Ramsden
Natsha Simms Natasha Sims - Head of Promotions

Nat's been dying to get involved since she joined Royal Holloway, in fact one of the reasons she came here was because it had a a radio station. Fool. On the second licence she helped out ex Head of Speech - Tom with some of his "comedy" characters and then on the third she had some early breakfast shows as well as compiling and presenting the ICU (Insanity Communications Update) during drivetime. She's also a whiz with a staple-gun.

Donna Kitching - Head of Publicity

Donna got involved with presenting in the first licence and then took a break for the second returning triumphantly on the third to perform a rebel alliance with mate Jo. She's now joined the board as Head of Publicity and is soon to take part in the ceremonious passing of the staple-gun from ex-Head of Publicity Derek.

Donna Kitching
Kathryn Shaw Kathryn Shaw - Head of Finance

Last year Kathryn was Rag Chair having to raise lots of money, now she's Insanity's Head of Finance she's in charge of spending it. Kathryn's a top Insanity producer, looking after the launch and close-down shows as well as ex-Station Mananger Richard Clarke's drivetime show when the lovely Jenny was away. She likes small animals and wants to work for world peace.

Anna Brook - Head of Advertising

Anna caught the radio bug when preenting on the last licence and after her successes with running the fashion show felt she could tackle the post of Head of Advertising. We have tied electric shock generators to parts of her body and if she fails to raise serious amounts of cash we will be forced to shock her. As well as working behind the Union bar, she's a bit of a dancer having strutted her funky stuff at Disco Inferno, in aid of rag-week.

Anna Brook
Alex Constanti Alex Constanti - Head of Communications

Alex co-presented on RSL3 but craved more power and a board position. His job entails finding people for Insanity's specialist music and speech shows as well as working on Insanity's outside interests and any specialist projects. He's an Army and Rugby man, which scares us.
